Is Elementor / Divi / WP Bakery still safe to bet on in 2026?

Honest answer for each. The vendor risk is now the dominant risk.

WP Bakery — no

The vendor effectively abandoned active maintenance in 2024. Updates are security patches only; no new feature work. Every WP minor release breaks something. If you have a WP Bakery site, plan the migration; don’t plan another year on it.

Elementor — yes, but with conditions

Active vendor, real release cadence, large community. But: the rendered HTML is heavy, the editor is slow on sites with 50+ pages, and the “Pro” tier creates a real licensing dependency. Elementor is fine for marketing sites that ship campaigns; it’s painful for marketing sites that ship considered content.

Divi — no, for B2B service sites

Elegant Themes is a single vendor with a single-pricing model and a track record of opinionated breaking changes. If they ship a “Divi 6” that requires a rebuild, your site rebuilds with it. For an agency that ships 30 marketing sites a year, that’s fine. For a B2B service business with one site, it’s risk concentration without upside.

The general rule
